A community dotted with rice and soybean fields and rich in Cajun French tradition. You’re sure to find a warm, friendly welcome over a cup of hot coffee here!
Kingsfarm is located 3 miles South of Kinder, Louisiana, just west of LA Hwy 165 at Parish Line Road.
George Merritt King, a surveyor, purchased the land in a tax sale in the late 1800’s. The land was then settled and leased to the settlers by the King family to farm. Rice has been farmed in the area since the early 1900’s.
Kingsfarm United Pentecostal Church was founded in the homes of members during the early 1930's. The first building was constructed in 1935 near the home of Mr. Martin Fontenot, and was moved to the present site in 1953. A new brick building was erected in 1966.
In 1972, the new building was remodeled and furnished with carpet and padded pews, and the older facility was converted to an educational facility. In 1978, a prayer room was built joining the 1953 and 1966 structures.
In 1984, additional land was granted by King Corporation, and a new Educational Wing was constructed on the north side of the facility.
In 1994, construction of a new auditorium and office/education complex was completed. The former auditorium was converted to a modern fellowship/multipurpose meeting hall with kitchen facilities, and the 1953 building was razed.

I’m Pastor Steve Haymon. In February 2005, I was elected Pastor of Kingsfarm. Since then my family and I have relocated to the Kingsfarm community. We are excited to be “home”. Having been raised in this congregation, I am blessed to Pastor some of the greatest people in the world. Their heart for God and His purpose is unparalleled. I stand on the shoulders of great men who labored to build a solid foundation of truth in this beautiful community.
God sent me the love of my life, Terri Lynn Louviere in 1992 and we were married on November 21st. On May 14, 1994 we were blessed with the birth of our first child, a boy! Cullen was named after my great grandfather, a pioneer of the gospel. Our second child, Lanna was born October 27, 1998 and our third, Chloe was born May 8, 2000. I am so blessed!
Raised in the home of a Pastor, I grew up involved in the work of God. After attending college I became involved in youth leadership and music ministry under my dad, Rev. A. A. Haymon, Jr., Kingsfarm’s Pastor from 1971 to 2004. I acknowledged the call to the ministry in 1992 and served as youth leader, music director and assistant to my dad for the next 6 years.
In June 1998, we moved to Moss Bluff, Louisiana where I was privileged to serve as Youth Leader, Music Director and Pastor’s Assistant under Pastor Tim Mahoney at the Moss Bluff Pentecostal Church for almost seven years. While at Moss Bluff Pentecostal, we began a Home Friendship Ministry of small groups. We were also blessed to begin and direct a drama team, direct the choir, direct seasonal musical presentations and host community singings as well.
At Moss Bluff, Terri initiated and directed several annual Children’s Music Camps which were very successful. The musical presentations at the culmination of these week-long camps drew some of the largest crowds of any other services in Moss Bluff at that time. She directed the children’s choir and was a team leader in the Women’s Ministry of Moss Bluff. She was active in MOPS (Mothers of Pre-schoolers) and other community women’s bible study groups. Her talent and sweet spirit are a blessing from God to my life and ministry.
Our first service at Kingsfarm was Sunday morning, February 27th, 2005. God has given me a vision to reach the community of Kingsfarm with the whole gospel. This church is a place of healing, refreshing and hope for everyone, no matter who they are, where they came from and what their life situation is. I invite you to worship with us. We seek anointing in every aspect of our worship and ministry. Our motto is “If we plant and water, God will give the increase!”
