Teknik Lab ("we", "us", or "our") provides Kindred Words, a mobile word puzzle game for Android.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Kindred Words.
Kindred Words does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, phone number, or other directly identifying personal information in order to play.
Most gameplay progress, such as completed puzzles, unlocked content, hints, and coin balances, is stored locally on your device.
Kindred Words also uses third-party Google services, including Google AdMob, Google User Messaging Platform (UMP), and Firebase Analytics. These services may automatically collect or process certain information when you use the app.
Through Firebase Analytics, Kindred Words records selected gameplay and app-interaction events so we can understand how the game is used and improve the player experience. These events may include:
puzzle starts and completions;
world completions;
puzzle abandonment;
hint usage;
rewarded advertisement completion;
interstitial advertisement display;
puzzle duration;
puzzle and world identifiers;
replay status; and
counts of hints used during a puzzle.
Kindred Words does not send the words on your puzzle board, category answers, names, email addresses, or other user-entered personal information to Firebase Analytics.
Firebase and related Google services may also process technical information such as app-instance or installation identifiers, device and app metadata, operating-system information, and diagnostic information. Google states that Firebase data covered by its disclosure guidance is encrypted in transit.
Kindred Words uses Google AdMob, a service provided by Google, to display advertisements, including rewarded advertisements and other ad formats.
When ads are requested or displayed, Google's advertising services may automatically collect or process information such as:
IP address, which may be used to estimate general location;
device and account identifiers, including the Android advertising ID and app set ID where available;
interactions with the app and advertisements, such as app launches, taps, and video views; and
diagnostic and performance information relating to the app and advertising services.
This information may be used by Google and its advertising partners for purposes including providing and measuring advertisements, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and improving advertising services.
The information processed by Google is subject to Google's own privacy policies and terms.
Kindred Words uses Firebase Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how players interact with the game.
Analytics information is used to measure gameplay engagement, identify where players progress or stop playing, understand how features such as hints and advertisements are used, and improve game design, stability, and future updates.
Firebase Analytics may use identifiers associated with the app installation and technical information about the device and app. A Firebase installation ID identifies an app installation and does not directly identify a person.
Teknik Lab does not create a custom user account identifier for analytics and does not use Firebase Analytics to collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, puzzle-board contents, or other directly identifying information.
Where required by applicable law, Kindred Words uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and manage privacy, advertising, and analytics choices.
Kindred Words uses Google's Consent Mode integration with UMP. For users in regions where European privacy regulations apply, UMP may update consent signals for advertising storage, advertising personalization, advertising user data, and analytics storage according to the user's choices.
Users in applicable regions may be presented with options to consent, decline consent, or manage their privacy choices.
Where required, Kindred Words provides access to privacy options within the app so that users can review or change applicable choices.
You may also be able to manage or reset your Android advertising identifier through your device's privacy settings.
Kindred Words offers optional rewarded advertisements. You may choose to watch these advertisements in exchange for in-game benefits, such as additional coins or increased completion rewards.
Watching a rewarded advertisement is voluntary and is not required to access the core gameplay of Kindred Words.
Ad interactions may be processed by Google AdMob and selected rewarded-ad completion events may also be recorded through Firebase Analytics as described above.
Kindred Words stores gameplay information locally on your device so that your progress can be restored between sessions.
This may include information such as:
completed and unlocked puzzles or worlds;
current puzzle progress;
coin balance;
hint state; and
reward claim status.
The full local save state is not uploaded to a Teknik Lab account or cloud-save service.
However, selected gameplay events and summary information are sent to Firebase Analytics as described in Section 3.
If you uninstall the app or clear its application data, locally stored progress may be deleted.
Kindred Words currently uses Google services including:
Google AdMob
Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)
Firebase Analytics
These services may process information according to their own privacy policies, terms, and legal obligations.

Teknik Lab does not sell your personal information.
Information processed through Google AdMob, UMP, and Firebase Analytics may be transmitted to and processed by Google and, where applicable and depending on your privacy choices, Google's advertising partners or service providers.
Firebase states that data collected by its Android SDKs is not transferred to third parties except to subprocessors that help provide Firebase services, where instructed by the developer, or where otherwise required to provide the service.
Teknik Lab does not independently operate a database containing personal profiles or account information for Kindred Words.
Teknik Lab takes reasonable measures to limit the information directly collected by Kindred Words.
Information processed by third-party services is protected according to the security practices of those service providers. Google states that data covered by its Firebase Android disclosure guidance is encrypted in transit using HTTPS, and Google Mobile Ads data is also protected according to Google's service security practices.
No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Gameplay progress maintained locally by Kindred Words remains on your device until it is removed through normal app use, application data is cleared, or the app is uninstalled.
Teknik Lab does not operate user accounts or maintain a remote database of Kindred Words gameplay profiles and therefore does not provide an account-deletion process.
Analytics and advertising information processed by Google is subject to Google's own retention and deletion practices.
Kindred Words is not specifically directed at children.
We do not knowingly ask users to provide personal information directly to Teknik Lab through the game.
Advertising, analytics, and related data processing are handled through Google services and are subject to applicable laws, platform policies, consent requirements, and age-related settings or restrictions that apply to the app.
If we become aware that the app's data practices require additional protections for children, we will take appropriate steps to comply with applicable requirements.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Kindred Words, third-party services, legal requirements, or our privacy practices.
Changes will be posted on this page and the "Last updated" date will be revised accordingly.
