Language and Literacy

In our community, our language and literacy work has had three specific focuses.

  1. Identifying letters and the sounds that they make.

  2. Phonemic Awareness, the ability to manipulate individual sounds in words. This also connects to learning spelling patterns and phonics

  3. Learning to read and write high-frequency words (also known as sight words or power words)

Here you will find resources and guides to practice these skills at home
