Here are some of the things we will be learning about this week:
Weekly Focus: Welcome to school! We are learning all about our procedures and routines at school. Each day we practice how to unpack in the morning, lunch and snack routines, lining up, rest time routines and how to pack up to go home.
Literacy: Theme: Hello School! We are learning about school and comparing how our school experience is alike or different from stories we read, such as Pete the Cat Rocking in My School Shoes and informational text about school!
Phonemic Awareness: We will begin our phonemic awareness program in the coming weeks, which includes practicing how to produce rhyming words, segment and blend compound words, segment beginning and ending sounds.
Math: We are practicing counting to 10!
Religion: We are learning what prayer is and how to pray reverently. We are also learning how to welcome others and share Jesus's love with new friends.
