COMPULSORY ROTATING MEDICAL INTERNSHIP
DUTIES OF INTERNS POSTED IN THE DEPARTMENT
1. Internship is a phase of training wherein a graduate is expected to conduct actual practice of medical and healthcare and acquires skills under the supervision so that he or she may become capable of functioning independently post training.
2. The intern shall be entrusted with clinical responsibilities under direct supervision of senior medical officer. They shall not be working independently.
3. Interns shall not issue medical certificates or death certificates or post-mortem reports or any other medico-legal reports under their signature.
4. During the posting in our department, the intern is expected to acquire the skills mentioned in the log sheet provided to them.
5. Interns shall wear apron and their name badge during the duty hours compulsorily.
6. Interns should be available at their respective place of postings during the duty hours and shall also be available on call.
7. Interns should carry necessary instruments during the duty hours in their postings.
8. Inters posted shall report to the Professor & H.O.D., sharp by 9.00 A.M. at the college campus.
9. Interns shall be present at their Mortuary, KIMSH & RC, by 9 A.M. every day and should report the case details to the staff on duty.
10. Interns duty shall end by 4 P.M. but can also be extended as and when necessary.
11. Interns cannot avail any LEAVE during the postings. The period of absence during the postings should be repeated at the end of their internship.
12. Interns should maintain a logbook (Should purchase Internal Assessment book from KIMS Co-Operative Society) and record the duties done by them and take signature from the staff.
13. Interns should sign the attendance register kept in the hospital campus every day without fail. Defaulter will be marked absent and will be made to repeat in the end of the postings.
14. Any assignments / projects given to the interns should be completed & submitted before they finish their postings.
15. Inters should follow the instructions of the staff & postgraduates.
16. Interns shall not leave the department at any point of time other the lunch break i.e. from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M.
17. Interns shall be assessed by the respective staff for the competencies mentioned in the log sheet and shall get signature from the staff after the assessment.
18. Completion will be signed by the H.O.D. after the review of submission of logbook.
