Soochan Kim, Ph. D.

Soochan Kim is an Assistant Professor in the School of Chemical Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University, Korea. He performed his post-doctoral research with Prof. Mauro Pasta at the University of Oxford (2021-2023) and Prof. Michael De Volder at the University of Cambridge (2023-2024). Before that, he received his several degrees in Chemical Engineering from Sungkyunkwan University supervised by Prof. Youngkwan Lee.

Soochan has focused on the design of functional polymeric materials for various electrochemical applications. Currently, his research group is dedicated to developing next-generation batteries using functional polymers. Their work based on functional polymers ranges from designing basic battery components to building new battery architectures.
