BIO

Hello everyone! My name is Kim Jurgens, and I’m thrilled to present my English 1120 portfolio. 

I’m currently a sophomore at UNM, pursuing a major in music with a focus on vocal performance. Growing up in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, just a stone’s throw from Albuquerque, I was surrounded by the vibrant rhythms of life, and music has always been my heartbeat. From singing in choirs and performing in recitals to starring in musicals and operas, music has been a cornerstone of my life. It’s more than just a passion; it’s a part of my identity. The joy of creating and sharing music has shaped who I am today, and I’m immensely grateful for the chance to delve deeper into my craft here at UNM. Outside of music, I have a love for photography and hiking. I often combine these interests, capturing the stunning beauty of nature, especially in the mountains. There’s something magical about seeing the world through a lens and exploring new heights. While most of my writing experience has been academic, I’m excited to broaden my horizons and develop my skills further. I’m eager to grow as a writer and embrace new opportunities for creativity.
