Victoria Chen is 17 years old and is a senior attending La Jolla Country Day School. Her passion for music was nurtured at a young age from her mother, who was a violinist, and her two older brothers (of which who play the piano, viola, and percussion). Victoria is active in classical violin and voice. She is the upcoming Concertmistress for the the Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra (MMYO) Advanced Orchestra, has sung solo with MMYO for their 2024 Christmas Concert, performs regularly with some of her friends from orchestra in her string quartet called “Killing Contemporary”, and has participated in the 2024 (Southern California Vocal Association) Coastal Regional Honor Choir and the 2025 California All-State choir (at the California All-State Music Education Conference). In addition to violin and voice, Victoria has played piano since grade one, studying with Dr. Tingting Zhang. Victoria has participated and earned top prizes in the MTAC Piano Concerto Competition, the San Diego Chopin Festival, the H. B. Goodlin Scholarship Competition, Sonata Contest, and more.

Madelynn (Maddy) Carpiuc is sixteen years old and has been playing the violin since age seven. She has consistently received top scores in violin performance and theory in the MTAC Certificate of Merit and was a winner in the 2023 and 2025 regional Southern California Junior Bach Festival. As a classical music enthusiast, Maddy co-founded and currently leads the Classical Music Circle at Stanford Online High School; outside of music, she enjoys creative writing, literature, and philosophy. She currently attends Canyon Crest Academy and studies violin with Linda Piatt.

Mia Tzavaras is the violist of the Killing Contemporary String Quartet. Outside of her quartet work, she is the principal violist of Sage Creek High School’s Chamber Orchestra and assistant principal violist of the Mainly Mozart Advanced Youth Orchestra. She studies with Jennifer Albrent and Jesús Florido. In 2025, she received the National School Orchestra award for her “excellence in playing and contributions to the ensemble.” She also has experience in various other expressions of music, playing as a soloist in the musical pit orchestra for her high school’s production of Into the Woods (2024) and Annie Get Your Gun (2025). Additionally, she was selected to play “Cycles of the Moon” by Ayala Asherov, a contemporary five movement viola solo, accompanied by Sage Creek’s Chamber Orchestra. She is driven by her great passion in music and seizes any opportunity to perform for others and bring joy by sharing the gift of music. As a senior in high school, she is now preparing to major in Viola Performance in college.

Kiana Lee is the cellist of the Killing Contemporary Quartet. Outside of her quartet work, she is a member of the Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra, where she performs as a dedicated ensemble player. She studies with distinguished teachers and is committed to continually refining her artistry. Beyond orchestra and chamber music, she has been active as both a performer and educator, directing accessible programming and remaining involved with American Sign Language to support the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. Driven by her deep love of music and commitment to accessibility in the arts, Kiana continues to serve as a beacon for individuals with disabilities within the music field, embracing every opportunity to perform, advocate, and connect with others through her playing.
