Privacy Policy for Chore Scramble

Chore Scramble ("we," "our," or "the app") is operated by Kiki GadgetsLtd.  This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

Group names and invite codes you create

Your display name (chosen during onboarding)

Chore names and award names entered into the app

Information collected automatically:

A randomly generated anonymous device identifier (Firebase Anonymous Authentication UID). This ID is not linked to your name, email address, or any other personal identifier outside the app.

Basic usage data such as chores completed, badges earned, and award redemptions, stored in association with your anonymous UID.

Information we do NOT collect:

Real names, email addresses, phone numbers, or government-issued IDs

Location data

Payment or financial information

Camera, microphone, or contacts data

Data from other apps on your device

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above solely to:

Provide and operate the Chore Scramble service (synchronizing group data across devices in real time)

Display in-app statistics such as leaderboards and badge progress

Maintain your session so you don't have to rejoin your group after relaunching the app

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

3. Data Storage and Third-Party Services

Your group data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), a service provided by Google LLC. Data is stored on Google's servers and subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties.

4. Children's Privacy

Chore Scramble is designed for family use and may be used by children under 13 under parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. Because all accounts are fully anonymous (no email, name, or contact information is required), the app does not collect PII from any user, including children. Parents are encouraged to supervise their children's use of the app.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your group data remains in Firebase for as long as your group exists. You can remove yourself from a group at any time using the "Leave Group" option in the app. Group admins can delete the group, which removes all associated data from our servers. Because accounts are anonymous, there is no account to "close" — leaving or uninstalling the app ends your participation.

To request deletion of any data associated with your anonymous device ID, contact us at the email address below and include your group code. We will delete the associated records within 30 days.

6. Security

We use Firebase Security Rules to ensure that only members of a group can read or write that group's data. We do not store passwords. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
