Quickstart
Effortlessly simple
Kiilix Studio works alongside your MoErgo Layout Editor to give you total visual freedom. Drag and drop keys, paint your layout with color, and instantly generate physical RGB lighting profiles.
Zero risk. Totally cool.
1. Get your layout on the canvas
We start by exporting your current layout as a JSON file from the MoErgo Layout Editor. Your physical keyboard stays untouched until you’re ready.
Open the MoErgo Layout Editor.
Go to Settings and enable Local Backup & Restore.
Click Export to download your layout to your computer as a JSON file.
2. Make it yours
Open Kiilix Studio in your browser and import your downloaded JSON file. Now, the fun begins.
Move freely: Click and drag any key to instantly swap its position.
Paint with color: Pick a color from the palette, and click any key to paint it.
Customize: Click a key to open the Inspector on the right. Add custom text, icons, and descriptions.
Hardware LEDs: Want a key to light up when Caps Lock is on? Click the Toggle Key Indicators in the left panel, pick a color, and stamp it onto a key.
3. Bring it to life
When your layout looks perfect, it's time to export. Click File at the top left.
Save Layout File: Saves your visual design.
Save with RGB LEDs: Translates your colors into PR36 community firmware.
Final Step: Take your newly saved JSON file, go back to the MoErgo Layout Editor, and click Restore (Import JSON).
4. Build with RGB LED
4. Build with RGB LED
In the Layout Editor, open Settings and select PR36 Community Firmware.
Click Build and copy the new firmware to your keyboard,
Perform a ZMK Configuration Factory Reset to “wake up” your new LED colors for the first time. See the MoErgo Documentation for details.
