The Kids Teach Technology program started as an idea in 2020. Maddic Jordan, the founder of the KTT, was assigned to find a creative way to help his community in 6th grade. While the other students in the classroom thought of cleaning trash in the parks, or feeding animals at the shelter, Maddic thought of something bigger. He wanted to reach more people, and also gain some knowledge through doing so. He thought of the things he liked to do, and how he could connect those to the community. A week later, he emailed the local seniors center. With his dad's help, he worked diligently to create a fun 2-hour presentation for the seniors. By the end of it, he had gained knowledge that he had never known before, like how the cellular phone was invented, and what life was like without it.
Today, we are reaching out to many different senior centers around the Marietta, Georgia area. We do in-person sessions and online video calls to teach others how to use the vast amounts of technology in today's growing society. Our goal is to get more people involved and eventually spread the program across the states. We want anyone to learn, whether it would be the average person about technology, or teenagers about the past.
