Privacy Policy for KidsMaths
Last updated: 4 August 2026
Introduction
KidsMaths ("the app") is a maths practice app for children, developed by Cameron Obst. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it's used, and how you can control it.
We built KidsMaths around one simple rule: nothing about your family ever leaves your device. There is no server, no account, and no internet connection required to use the app.
Information the App Handles
When you create a profile in KidsMaths, you (a parent or guardian) enter:
- A first and last name
- A choice of on-screen cartoon avatar picture
As your child plays, the app also records:
- Which quiz questions were answered correctly or incorrectly, and the date
- Overall scores for each game
That is the complete list. KidsMaths does not collect, and has no way to collect:
- Email addresses, phone numbers, or physical addresses
- Location data
- Photos, camera, or microphone access
- Contacts or other data from your device
- Advertising or device identifiers
- Any information about your child beyond the profile name, avatar, and quiz scores listed above
Where This Information Is Stored
Everything listed above is stored only in a local database on your device, using Android's standard on-device storage. It is never transmitted anywhere — not to us, not to any analytics company, not to any advertiser, and not to any cloud service. KidsMaths does not use the internet at all.
If you uninstall the app, this data is deleted along with it.
How Long We Keep Information
- Quiz results are automatically deleted after 60 days.
- Profiles (name and avatar) are kept until you delete them yourself from within the app — there is no automatic expiry for profiles, since some families keep the same profile for years.
- You can delete a profile, and everything associated with it, at any time using the delete button on the profile selection screen. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Third Parties
KidsMaths does not use any third-party services. Specifically, the app contains:
- No advertising or ad networks
- No analytics or crash-reporting services
- No third-party embedded content (e.g. no video embeds)
- No in-app purchases or payment processing
- No social features, accounts, or sign-in of any kind
Permissions the App Requests
KidsMaths requests exactly one Android permission:
- Vibrate — used only to give a short haptic buzz as feedback when your child taps an answer. It is not used to collect any information.
Children's Privacy
KidsMaths is designed to be used by children, under the supervision of a parent or guardian who creates the profile. Because no information ever leaves the device — there is no account creation, no data transmission, and no way for us or anyone else to access what a child enters — the app does not collect personal information from children in any way that leaves your control. Everything described in this policy stays under the device owner's control at all times.
If you have any concerns about your child's use of the app, you can review, edit, or delete any profile and its data directly within the app at any time.
Data Security
Because all data stays on your device and is never transmitted, there is no server-side data to be exposed in a breach. Data is only as secure as the device itself — we recommend using your device's own lock screen protection.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes in the future (for example, if a new feature changes what data the app handles), we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date above. We encourage checking back periodically.
