For Schools
For Schools
Kids Ask, Authors Answer offers schools a unique opportunity to connect students directly with children’s book authors in a meaningful, engaging, and age-appropriate way. We feature both picture books and chapter books, and tailor each episode to the age level and format of the book being discussed.
Each episode includes one school and up to 13 students who have read the selected book and prepared their own questions for the author. Students get to see their curiosity taken seriously as the author responds to their questions and shares behind-the-scenes insight into storytelling, creativity, and the writing process.
This experience is designed to support literacy, critical thinking, and student voice, while giving kids a memorable connection to books and authors.
When your school is selected to participate, you will receive:
A featured Kids Ask, Authors Answer episode dedicated to your school
Participation for up to 13 students per episode
A free copy of the featured book, mailed to your school for your classroom or library to keep
A full read-along of the book that can be read with the participating class
A recorded author interview responding to your students’ questions
A dedicated page on the Kids Ask, Authors Answer website that includes:
The full episode replay
The read-along video
Lesson plans and classroom discussion prompts
Optional student-friendly activities
A Spotify audio version of the interview for easy classroom listening
We understand that schools have different privacy needs. Students can participate in the way that feels best for your classroom:
