Visio Divina

At Kids church this term in our prayer stations we will be practicing the tool of Visio Divina.  Essentially we will be looking at different images and prayerfully asking what God might be saying to us through that image. Visio Divina is a great tool and it could be something that is added to your weekly rythms as a family.  You could during dinner look at an image and work your way through the tool.  You can find images to use anywhere. I have downloaded a great set of cards that I use for lots of things. But it works for this tool too. You can find images anywhere. 

The way I do anything new is to try and make it a part of things we already are doing. You may decide for the next Month we are going to do this at dinner on a Tuesday night.  

 I pick an image from a bible story that we are about to explore. 

I may use a set of cards that I have downloaded for the purpose of spiritual formation. 

I might use an image that we already have on the wall at home. 

I might have a box at home of interesting images.

I could use a photo from a family expirence recently.
