About Shane

Shane Shellenbarger is an amazing husband and friend and has been married to his wife Lauren for over 33 years. He spent 30 years working for the phone company in various roles and retired before Qwest became Century Link. He was born in Akron, Ohio, where he lived for 2 years before moving to Phoenix. He is a big science fiction fan, worked on many science fiction conventions and events and even met his wife through Star Trek. He has always been a funny guy and can bring humor to almost any situation. He now channels that humor through Improvisational Theater. Shane is an active member of the Second Beat Improv Theater community and also performs short form improv with Results May Vary at the Brelby Theater in Glendale. Before his illness, he traveled extensively and had been to 6 of the 7 continents, was an avid cruiser, and enjoyed bowling. Even though he can participate in some of those activities, it is far more challenging and he generally just does not have the energy. Many of his friends as well as his wife have stepped up to be tested as a donor, but because of various health issues, no one has yet to qualify.
