KI LYNN MATLOCK
Assistant Professor, Research, Evaluation, Measurement and Statistics

She has valuable experience teaching college algebra, principles of statistics, statistics of nursing, research methods in education and health professions, and in statistics course coordination. Oklahoma State University’s Master of Science Degree in Educational Psychology, Educational Research and Evaluation was recently listed by the ranking publication Top Master’s in Education in the Best Master’s in Educational Assessment, Measurement and Evaluation ranking, coming in at No. 17.
“We strive to offer students a quality educational experience and we are very pleased that Top Master’s in Education placed us in the top 20,” said Dr. Jam Khojasteh, director of the Educational Research and Evaluation program. “Students come to our program with different educational and work backgrounds and they enjoy learning to apply statistics, data analyses, and evaluation methods to study and understand problems in a variety of fields.”
Top Master’s in Education provides trusted information to prospective graduate students as they determine where to attend graduate school. The publication includes objective rankings and critical reviews of many degree programs. Dr. Matlock received the Distinguished Paper Award at the Rocky Mountain Educational Researchers Association annual meeting in Claremore, OK for her paper titled, Effects of Positively and Negatively Worded Items on Estimated Latent Trait Scores (Matlock, K., Turner, R., & Gitchel, D., 2015). The paper was invited to be presented at the American Educational Researchers Association annual meeting in 2016 in Washington, D.C. (link)
The Workforce and Adult Education program was recently recognized with the top paper at the Association for Career and Technical Education Research (ACTER) poster session in Las Vegas.
The winning paper entitled, "Retention and Job Satisfaction: Factors Affecting CTE (Career and Technical Education) Teachers," was authored by Ph.D. graduate Muhd Khaizer Omar, associate professor Mary Jo Self and assistant professor Ki Lynn Matlock.
The Stillwater Area United Way kicked off its campaign Sept. 17 with the 20th annual Day of Caring.
Day of Caring consists of volunteers from across the community banding together to help United Way partner agencies. This year 425 volunteers worked on 110 projects at 20 partner agencies and homes of Mobile Meals clients. The projects were wide-ranging, but painting was the most common task— volunteers used 99 gallons of paint in one day.
