Mr. Chris Roberds, a native of Springfield and a graduate of Kickapoo (class of '98), has been involved in speech and debate since Ms. Teresa Sparkman introduced it to him in 1994. While at Kickapoo, he was a one-time state qualifier and two-time national qualifier in policy debate. Since leaving Kickapoo, he earned both a BS and an MS from SBU. He has coached at Marshfield High School in Missouri, Salpointe in Arizona, Amicitia in Fes, Morocco, and at Missouri Valley College. You can contact him directly at ccroberds@spsmail.org.
Makayla Jordan attended Jefferson City High School, where she was coached by a slew of wonderful coaches in Lincoln-Douglas, Congress, Public Forum, and a mess of interp events. She qualified to nationals in Congress for two years, and qualified to state in prose and Lincoln-Douglas. She completed her degree in English and Education at Drury University, and is currently getting her Masters in Educational Leadership from Northwest Missouri State. For many years, she has coached informally at Jefferson City High School, but looks forward to being a permanent staple in the Kickapoo Speech and Debate team.
