Ryokan

Context:
Given contextual model, we had to work with it and create a detailed resort space of any theme we desired. The whole project is to showcase our technical skills in concept creation, 3d model, render and animation.

Japanese Tradition
Its harmonious integration with nature, minimalist design fostering tranquility, cultural aesthetics emphasizing mindfulness, functionality, and adaptability, and rich historical significance. These elements collectively create an allure that resonates with me, drawn to its serene, culturally rich, and seamlessly blended traditions. Thus the decision to make a Ryokan (Japanese Traditional Inn Resort)

Technical
Starting with basic zoning of the spaces then identifying key design language based on various traditional Japanese buildings allowed me to begin the spatial transformation of the plain resort space we were given. Afterwards I set various key scenes to prepare for the walkthrough to showcase our resort. Creating a storyboard using various screenshots of the scenes created and piecing it into a simple video for vetting by our lecturers to see our various transitions etc.

湖面 Komen - Pond serve as not only visually captivating features but also as sources of relaxation, cultural appreciation, and interactive experiences

禅庭 Zen Niwa - Zen Garden serve as tranquil spaces designed to offer guests a serene and contemplative experience

茶室 Chashitsu - Tea Room with its minimalist design, tatami mats, and tranquil atmosphere, provides a serene space for guests to unwind and find a sense of peace amid their resort stay.

Overview
Its interior embodies a seamless blend of craftsmanship and the natural world. Upon entry, guests encounter an atrium with an indoor garden and koi pond, leading to minimalist guest rooms adorned with traditional Japanese elements. The tea area offers healing meditation amid natural surroundings. Craftsmanship alcoves celebrate local artisans, tea ceremonies, and historical scrolls, providing an immersive experience which envisions a sanctuary harmonizing with the melody of water.
