Kiah Wah Ong

Hi. I’m Kiah. I am a mathematician and a math educator. For my doctoral work, I studied the dynamical properties of systems driven by dissipative or stochastic differential equations. Before that, I wrote my master's thesis on the theory of univalent functions in the area of complex analysis.

Besides teaching, I am interested in applying my mathematical modeling and data-analytical skills to investigate, explore, and solve problems related to industry, engineering, and science.

Outside of campus, you can frequently find me at the Field Museum, the Art Institute, and Morton Arboretum. I was also once certified to operate the Doane Telescope at the Adler Planetarium.  My other interests include building F-4 Phantom II scale models (1:72 scale) in my spare time. I've accumulated a lot of knowledge of this magnificent machine.
