About Us
SON group explores and develops new quantum materials and physics using advanced two-dimensional materials (2D materials). The particular specialty of the group is the mesoscopic investigation of new type van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures in which a small number of electrons, down to the single-electron limit, can be isolated and their effective dimensionality varied. Our group focuses on quantum computation; topological materials, devices, and transport measurements. These materials include carbon nanotubes, 2D crystals, and nanowires. This is part of the field of mesoscopic physics or nanoelectronics, and the techniques that the group has developed have been adopted by many other groups worldwide.
