Letters will be handed out after tryouts and call backs have completed.
Mandatory Team and Parent meeting will be help the evening on May 3rd from 5pm-7pm in KHS Cafeteria. Deposit will be due at this meeting. We will go over our season and expectations in more detail. Fittings for athletes will also take place during this meeting.
Minimum Skill and Character Requirements:
The minimum athletic abilities we are requesting are as follows:
Dance skills, solid jumps, motions, stunting, voice projection, teamwork and general outstanding physical fitness.
Please note that while judging will be based on ability, it is also based on potential to succeed. Hard work and dedication can be seen and will be watched during tryouts.
If your grades are not currently adhering to the ID Athletic/Activities Academic (IDHSAA) Eligibility Policy then you ARE NOT PERMITTED TO TRY OUT. Students must be in compliance with this policy and with the grade/behavior requirements of the school district.
You must have a current physical/interim questionnaire in order to tryout.
WHAT YOU NEED FOR TRY-OUTS
Shoes: Cheerleading shoes or low tread tennis shoes.
Tryout clothing: Plain SOLID BLACK shirt/shorts (no logos please) are required. If wearing loose athletic shorts please wear spandex/spanks underneath.
Ladies Hair needs to be in a high slicked back pony and bow - No scrunchies, No fly-a-ways/whispies.
Gentlemen's Hair needs to be clean, out of eyes, and appropriately styled
Please look your best you are trying out for a performance team. Look like a performer.

THEN FOLLOW EACH STEP IN ORDER AND COMPLETE EACH STEP BEFORE MOVING ON TO THE NEXT ONE.
Step 1: Go to the Forms tab, click on the 'Athlete Introduction' form, upload your video, and submit
Step 2: Go to the Forms tab, click on the 'Athlete Information for KHS Cheer & Stunt Tryouts: 23 - 24' form, fill out, and submit
Step 3: Go to the Forms tab, click on the 'Parent/Guardian Consent Form for Tryouts' form, fill out, and submit

Step 5: If you do not have a current physical from this past school year, you MUST get one to be eligible to tryout. If you had a sport physical this year it is now good until July 31st. If you were a sophomore this year, your interim questionnaire is good until July 31st. If you have a current or history of persistent/chronic injuries you will need to be medically cleared by a physician prior to tryouts. We will need a doctor’s note stating clearance to participate.
Step 6: Go to the Forms tab and click on the 'Recommendation Form' and email that link to 2 teachers, admin, coaches, or staff and request they fill it out on your behalf and submit it by Wednesday April 30th.
**ALL FORMS AND TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO TRYOUT**
Step 7: Attend Tryout Clinics and Tryouts
Each athlete will receive a letter once tryouts has finished with their placement.
Letters are NOT to be read in the gym, no exceptions.
Participants who are not selected and have questions may email those to kunahscheer@gmail.com. Responses will be sent the week following tryouts. Phone calls, text messages, requested meetings, Facebook Messages, etc will not be responded to at any time.TEAM COMPOSITION:
*Team size will be determined by the coaching staff.
Status from previous year will not guarantee placement. Each position/team must be earned each year.
Junior Varsity (JV) Freshman-Junior participants. JV athletes will cheer at all JV selected games. They will attend summer camp. They will also be asked and expected to attend other various games to help promote school participation/spirit. JV athletes may be considered for competition teams.
Varsity (V) Freshmen-Senior participants. Seniors can only make the Varsity team. Varsity athletes will cheer at all Varsity selected games. They will attend summer camp. They will also be asked and expected to attend other various games to help promote school participation/spirit. A letter can be earned for this level of participation.
***Participation in any competitive environment will be selected by coaches and will be announced at the end of summer.***
