Khojo is a local discovery application developed and operated by Udit Narayan, an independent developer based in India.
Khojo helps users discover nearby businesses, shops, restaurants, services, local offers, and other places of interest. It also allows eligible merchants to create business profiles and publish local offers.
The information collected depends on the features you use and the permissions you grant.
When you register for or use a Khojo account, we may collect:
Name
Email address
Mobile phone number
Profile information
Profile image, when provided
Account type, such as customer or merchant
Authentication and login information
Account status
Merchant approval or verification status
User ID or Firebase authentication identifier
Administrative accounts are not created through the public Khojo application. They are restricted internal accounts created through Khojo’s backend or Firebase services.
With your permission, Khojo may access your approximate or precise location to:
Show businesses, services, and deals near you
Calculate the distance between you and nearby places
Display results on an interactive map
Provide directions
Apply your selected search radius
Improve the relevance of local results
You may deny or disable location permission through your device settings. Some local-discovery and map features may not work properly without location access.
Khojo may collect or process information about how you use the application, including:
Search terms
Selected categories
Businesses, places, and offers viewed
Saved favourites
Ratings and reviews
Offer interactions and redemptions
QR-code interactions
Merchant profiles visited
Leaderboard or reward activity, where available
Features used within the application
Khojo may request camera permission when you use QR-code scanning or another camera-based feature.
Camera access may be used to:
Scan QR codes at supported merchant locations
Open merchant profiles or offers
Verify or redeem eligible deals
Capture or upload profile or business images
Khojo does not continuously access the camera. Camera access begins only when you open a feature that requires it.
Khojo may request microphone permission when you choose to use voice search.
Your spoken input may be processed and converted into a text search query. Khojo does not continuously access your microphone. Microphone access begins only when you activate voice search.
Merchants applying for or managing a business profile may provide:
Business name
Business category
Business address and geographical location
Email address and phone number
Opening hours
Business description
Business images and logos
Offers, prices, conditions, and validity periods
Merchant verification information
Business documents, where verification is required
Information published as part of an approved merchant profile or offer may be visible to other Khojo users.
Khojo and its service providers may collect limited technical information, including:
Device type
Operating-system version
Khojo application version
Language and regional settings
Device or application identifiers
Firebase installation or authentication identifiers
Crash reports
Diagnostic logs
Application performance information
Application usage information
Push-notification tokens
Network and connectivity information
This information may be used to investigate errors, maintain security, deliver notifications, and improve application reliability.
Khojo uses restricted administrative accounts to manage the application and review merchant requests.
Administrative accounts are manually created through Khojo’s backend systems or Firebase services and cannot be created by normal users through the public application.
Authorized administrators may access submitted information when necessary to:
Review merchant registration requests
Approve or reject merchant applications
Request corrections to merchant information
Verify submitted business details or documents
Review or moderate merchant offers
Review public ratings, reviews, or other content
Investigate misuse, fraud, or policy violations
Provide account and technical support
Maintain application security
Administrative access is restricted to authorized personnel and is intended only for legitimate operational, verification, moderation, support, and security purposes.

Process text and voice searches
Operate QR-code scanning

Khojo may request the following Android permissions:
Used to show nearby places, offers, maps, directions, and distance information.
Used for QR-code scanning and supported profile or merchant-image features.
Used only when the user activates voice search.
Used to send account, merchant, offer, security, and service updates.
Used when a user or merchant chooses to upload a supported image.
Permissions are requested when needed for a related feature. Users may allow, deny, or revoke permissions through their Android device settings.
Khojo does not sell users’ personal information.
Information may be processed by service providers that help operate Khojo, including providers of:
Cloud hosting and databases
Firebase authentication and other Firebase services
Google Maps Platform
Google Play services
Push notifications
Analytics
Performance monitoring
Crash reporting
Customer support
Payment and subscription processing, when applicable
These service providers may process limited data as necessary to provide their services and according to their applicable terms and privacy policies.
Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to:
Comply with applicable law or a valid legal request

Protect the rights and safety of users or the public
Protect Khojo’s systems and services
Enforce applicable terms and policies
Some information submitted to Khojo is intended to be publicly visible. This may include:
Merchant business name
Business category
Business description
Business address
Business contact information
Opening hours
Business images and logos
Merchant offers and conditions
User display names
User ratings and reviews
Leaderboard information, where available
Users and merchants should not publish private, confidential, financial, or sensitive personal information in reviews, profiles, offers, or business descriptions.
Merchant applications, verification information, business details, and related account information may be accessed by authorized Khojo administrators.
This access is used to:
Review merchant applications
Verify submitted business information
Approve or reject merchant accounts
Moderate public content
Investigate misuse
Provide support
Maintain application security
Administrative access is an internal operational activity and does not mean that Khojo sells user or merchant information.
Khojo may use third-party services, including:
Firebase Authentication
Firebase Cloud Messaging
Firebase Crashlytics or analytics, where enabled
Google Maps Platform
Google Play services
Google Play Billing, where purchases are available
Cloud-hosting and database providers
These services may independently process limited user, application, or device information according to their respective terms and privacy policies.
If Khojo offers subscriptions or digital purchases, payments may be processed through Google Play Billing.
Khojo may receive information such as:
Purchased product or subscription
Purchase status
Purchase or transaction token
Subscription start date
Subscription expiry date
Renewal or cancellation status
Khojo does not directly receive or store the full debit-card, credit-card, or bank-account information entered into Google Play.
Deleting a Khojo account may not automatically cancel an active Google Play subscription. Users should manage or cancel active subscriptions through their Google Play account.
Remove this section if purchases or subscriptions are not currently available in Khojo.
Khojo uses reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect user information.
These measures may include:
Encrypted network communication
Authentication controls
Access restrictions
Session-management controls
Administrative-access controls
Logging and monitoring
Security updates and maintenance
No internet transmission or electronic-storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Khojo retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
Provide and maintain Khojo services
Keep accounts active
Process merchant requests
Provide customer support
Resolve disputes
Prevent fraud or security misuse
Maintain legally required records
Comply with applicable legal obligations
Diagnostic logs and temporary technical records may be retained for a limited period.
Some information may be retained for longer where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, regulatory, or dispute-resolution purposes.
Users can delete their Khojo customer or merchant account and associated personal information directly through the application.
To delete your account:
Open Khojo → Profile → Delete Account
Tap the Delete Account button and follow the confirmation instructions shown in the application.
Khojo may ask you to confirm your decision or verify your identity before processing deletion. This helps prevent unauthorized account deletion.
Users who cannot access the application may request account deletion by sending an email to:

Include the email address or mobile number associated with the Khojo account so the request can be verified.
After deletion is confirmed, the account and associated personal information will be permanently deleted, except for information that must be retained for legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or regulatory purposes.
Uninstalling Khojo does not automatically delete the user’s account or associated data.
Internal administrator accounts are created and managed through Khojo’s backend systems and are not public user-created accounts.
Users may:
Review or update account information
Remove saved favourites
Manage notification preferences
Disable location, camera, or microphone permissions
Request correction of personal information
Delete their Khojo account
Request deletion of associated personal information
Stop using and uninstall the application
Khojo is not intended for children under 13 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to Khojo, contact us so the information can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when Khojo’s features, data practices, legal obligations, or service providers change.
The revised policy will be published on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
