Mini-workshop on arithematic dynamics

UCalgary, 19-23 August 2019

During 19-23 Aug, Andrew Bridy (Yale), John Doyle (Louisiana Tech), and Wade Hindes (Texas State) visit our department. The 4 of us will conduct a "mini-workshop" on arithmetic dynamics in the sense that we have a talk at 9:30am-11:00am on Monday-Thursday about diverse topics in arithmetic dynamics, more specifically:

  • Room: MS 427
  • Time: 9:30am-11am.
  • Monday 19 Aug: I will talk about heights and certain diophantine results in arithmetic dynamics. Title and abstract.
  • Tuesday 20 Aug: Andrew will talk about arboreal Galois representations and finite index problems. Title and abstract.
  • Wednesday 21 Aug: John will talk about dynamical moduli spaces. Title and abstract.
  • Thursday 22 Aug: Wade will talk about semigroups and random dynamics. Title and abstract.

Everyone is welcome. This site will be updated with the latest information about the event (eg. the room number, titles, abstracts, etc.). This event is partially supported by the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences. Any questions should be sent to me (dangkhoa.nguyen "at" ucalgary.ca).
