Khemah Kamera–
Building the walk-in instant camera and exploring projections
Building a canopy tent camera, hand processing 20 x 24” poster size prints instantly, for large groups & portraits on archival black & white silverprint.
With the ability to be mobile, the tent camera can be brought to a community, and engage in a portrait sessions.
I also intend to inhabit the structure and explore the mechanism of accumulating narratives and transpiring them. I hope to engage with performance-based artists to experiment with projections. <Rumah>

This is also a pilot and test platform for Rumah, Benua / Dwelling, Realm. To explore projections, methods of projecting light from within the tent.
As a development from Kanta Portraits, it is meant to explore beyond the tangible and documentative aspects of recording narratives.
An artistic exploration on transmitted forms of narratives; oral, visual, & collective memories.

Taking the elements from the first prototype, Bilik Obscura, the next build will be lightweight and easy to set up. It will be an experiment on materials and building methods, being mobile, and working with a team.

Bamboo building lecture
Attended a Bamboo building lecture at UCSI University (University College Sedaya International) by students. Showcasing building methods and joinery. 25 January 2022.
Bilik Obscura– the first prototype
My first attempt at building a walk-in size camera was in June 2017, with the camera called Bilik Obscura.
The camera was built out of a small room, and test instant portraits were taken. It took 3 people to operate this camera, and print at poster size.
