جيفري 林猷進 Lim Jew Chin

Jeffrey Lim (b. 1978, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) engages in social art projects using cultural mapping, performative installation and photography. Utilising forms of conceptual representation with imagery, found-object, and space. He is a communication designer by training, and has been involved in cycling & accessibility advocacy.
His current projects revolve around the Trades Archive initiative, a research & documentation, archival project/ apprenticeship. Building the Beca (2022) traditional hand-built tricycles; Kopi Lau Workshop (2023-current) local coffee culture.

Through mentorship programs, he intended to nurture a larger community of visual narrators. A Tale of Two Hills (2022) visual narrative mentorship program; Tempok Pelendong Ang, Shima Sidek (2023) photobook publication.

With Kanta.Studio, Jeff intends to promote the traditional box camera and his art practise through workshops and road shows. Khemah Kamera (2022) camera projector exploration; Potret Jalanan (2024-current) street portrait peddler.

His work with Kanta Portraits in Malaysia and Taiwan, a social exchange with indigenous communities, exploring the concepts of identities and the nation state.
