At Khadon Companion, we respect your spiritual practice and your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the Khadon Companion application.
A. Information You Provide to Us
Identity & Contact Data: When you sign in using Social OAuth (Google or Facebook), we receive your name, email address, and profile picture URL.
User Content: We store your bookmarks, reading queue position, and any highlights you make within the app.
B. Information Collected Automatically
Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the app, such as auto-scroll speed settings and font preferences.
Device Information: We collect basic device metadata to ensure the app is compatible and performing correctly on your specific hardware.
Synchronization: To allow you to access your bookmarks and reading lists across multiple devices.
Authentication: To verify your identity and secure your user account.
App Improvement: To understand which features are most used and improve the reading experience.
A. Local Storage
For guest users (not signed in), all data is stored exclusively on your device using browser localStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to sign in and sync.
B. Cloud Storage (Supabase)
For authenticated users, your data is securely stored in our cloud database provided by Supabase. We use industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) for data in transit and at rest.
C. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated cloud data is permanently removed from our servers.
We utilize the following third-party services to provide the app’s functionality:
Supabase: Cloud database and authentication infrastructure.
Google / Facebook: OAuth providers for secure social login.
These services have their own privacy policies which we encourage you to review. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or third-party data brokers.
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
The right to access: You can request a copy of the data we hold about you.
The right to rectification: You can ask us to correct any inaccurate information.
The right to erasure: You can delete your account and all associated data directly via the app settings.
Our application does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.
