Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to PDF Converter & OCR, developed by KhanSoft.

PDF Converter & OCR is a document scanning, PDF conversion, PDF management, and OCR application. This policy explains what information the app accesses, what information is processed locally, and what information may be collected by third-party services used by the app.

1. Information Processed by the App

The app may access or process the following information when you use its features:

- Documents, images, and PDF files selected by you

- Scanned document images

- Generated PDF and image files

- OCR text extracted from documents

- File names, file paths, file dates, and recent-file records

- App preferences, such as onboarding completion and ad-display counters

- Storage access on supported Android versions when required to save, open, or manage files

The app does not require you to create an account and does not request your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or financial information.

2. Local Document Processing

Your documents, images, PDFs, and OCR text are processed locally on your device for the features you request.

KhanSoft does not operate a server that uploads, stores, or reviews your documents. In the current implementation, document content, file names, file paths, and OCR text are not sent to Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, or AdMob.

The ML Kit document scanner and on-device text-recognition features process document input on the device. ML Kit states that input data and results are not sent to Google servers, although the SDK may send limited diagnostics and usage information. More information is available in Google's ML Kit privacy documentation:

https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/terms

3. How the App Uses Information

Information processed locally by the app is used to:

- Scan documents

- Create PDFs

- Convert images and PDFs

- Merge, split, compress, and protect PDFs

- Extract text using OCR

- Display recent and saved files

- Open or share files when you choose

- Save generated files on your device

- Improve app stability and understand aggregate app usage

KhanSoft does not sell your documents, OCR text, or file content.

4. Advertising Services

The app uses Google Mobile Ads SDK / AdMob to display native and interstitial advertisements.

AdMob may automatically collect and share information such as:

- IP address, which may be used to estimate general location

- App launches, taps, ad impressions, and other app interactions

- Advertising ID, app set ID, and other device or account identifiers

- Ad and SDK diagnostic information

- Information used for advertising measurement and fraud prevention

AdMob data may be used to display, measure, personalize, and improve advertisements. Depending on your region, consent choices, device settings, and Google's advertising settings, advertisements may be personalized or non-personalized.

AdMob data is transmitted using encryption in transit. More information is available in Google's AdMob data disclosure:

https://developers.google.com/admob/android/privacy/play-data-disclosure

You can manage advertising preferences through your Android and Google account settings. Where required by applicable law, the app will request consent before personalized advertising is enabled.

5. Firebase Analytics

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand aggregate app usage, including active users, sessions, feature usage, approximate region, and app engagement.

Firebase Analytics may automatically collect:

- Firebase app-instance identifier

- Android Advertising ID, where available

- Masked IP address used to derive approximate location

- App lifecycle events and session information

- Device, operating-system, and app-version information

We do not send document contents, OCR text, file names, or file paths as custom Analytics events.

Firebase Analytics data is used for analytics, reporting, product improvement, and app-performance understanding. More information is available in Google's Analytics data disclosure:

https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/11582702

6. Firebase Crashlytics

The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to identify and fix crashes, application-not-responding events, and other stability problems.

Crashlytics may collect:

- Crash stack traces

- Relevant application state at the time of a crash

- Device and operating-system metadata

- Crashlytics installation identifier

- Crash and diagnostic information

- Breadcrumbs describing recent app actions before a crash

The current implementation does not attach document content, OCR text, file names, file paths, or user-entered personal information to Crashlytics reports.

Crashlytics uses this information for crash reporting and app stability improvements. More information is available in Firebase's Android data disclosure documentation:

https://firebase.google.com/docs/android/play-data-disclosure

7. Google ML Kit and Google Play Services

The app uses Google ML Kit and Google Play services components for document scanning and OCR.

The document scanner and OCR processing operate on the device. These services may collect limited technical information such as:

- Device information

- App package and version information

- SDK and feature version

- Performance metrics

- API configuration

- Input and output sizes

- Feature events and error codes

This technical information is used for diagnostics, usage analytics, service maintenance, and reliability. Document images and OCR results are not sent to Google servers by the on-device ML Kit processing used by the app.

8. Files Shared by Your Choice

When you select Open, Share, Export, or another Android sharing option, the selected file is transferred to the application or service you choose.

That transfer is controlled by the selected application and is subject to that application's privacy policy. KhanSoft does not receive a copy of the file through the Android share action.

9. Local Storage and Retention

Generated files remain on your device until you delete them.

Recent-file records and app preferences remain stored locally until they are removed by the app, cleared through Android settings, or deleted when the app is uninstalled.

You can delete generated files from within the app where the delete option is available, or by using your device's file manager.

10. Data Security

We use Android platform security features and app-private storage where appropriate.

Data sent by Google SDKs such as AdMob, Firebase, and ML Kit diagnostics is transmitted using encryption in transit, such as HTTPS/TLS.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Data Sharing

KhanSoft does not share your documents, images, PDFs, or OCR text with third parties.

Technical and usage information may be collected by Google services used by the app, including AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google ML Kit, as described above.

We do not sell personal documents or OCR content. Google may process advertising, analytics, diagnostic, and device information according to Google's own terms and privacy policies.

12. Data Deletion Requests

Documents and generated files remain on your device until you delete them.

Recent file records and app preferences remain stored locally until removed by the app, cleared by the user, or deleted by uninstalling the app or clearing app data.

We do not maintain a separate user account database.

13. Children's Privacy

PDF Converter & OCR is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If the app's target audience changes to include children, the advertising and analytics configuration must be reviewed and updated before release.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
