Hi, I am Md. Al-Masrur Khan. I am pursuing my Ph.D. at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. I am working as a Research Assistant at the Vehicle Autonomoy And Intelligence Lab under Professor Lantao Liu. I joined the VAIL in Fall 2023. My research is primarily focused on visual perception using deep learning for the navigation of mobile robots. I completed my M.Sc. in ICT Integrated Ocean Smart Cities Engineering from Dong-A University, Busan, South Korea in February 2023. At Dong-A University I worked as a research assistant in the Advanced Multiphysics Structural Evaluation Laboratory under Professor Seong-Hoon Kee. During my master's degree, I developed a robotics vehicle for crack detection in pavement structures using deep learning in real-time. My master's degree thesis is "Autonomous Robotic-Assisted System for Nondestructive Evaluation of Asphalt Pavement using Deep Learning". I completed my B.Sc in Electronics and Communication Engineering Discipline from Khulna University, Bangladesh in 2020. I worked as a research assistant under Professor Abdullah-Al Nahid in his lab. My undergraduate thesis is "A Vision-based lane detection approach for autonomous vehicles using a convolutional neural network architecture". My dream is to be a roboticist and work in the field of visual perception for mobile robots and navigable space construction for on/off-road autonomous driving using deep learning. My final goal is to gain more knowledge through research in the areas of my interest and apply that knowledge for developing self-driving vehicles.
