Since 2024, I have been serving on the Student Advisory Committee for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Math Alliance (MARMA). Our job is to give inputs on MARMA activities and events, with an eye towards organizing events that are beneficial to students in mathematics, while simultaneously addressing their needs.

We will talk about how we can show there are different types or sizes of infinities, and how some infinities that seem to be different are actually the same.

In this session, we will be looking at fractals, a mathematical shape that is self-contained. A fractal of particular interest is the Mandelbrot set, so dubbed "the Thumbprint of God", will be our focus for the session.
