My name is Khalid Fakhr, and I've faced my fair share of challenges in life. From abandonment to school bullying to financial struggles and even cancer, I've experienced a lot of pain and uncertainty. But through it all, I've learned to be strong and resilient, and I'm here to share my story with you.
Growing up, I had a difficult relationship with my parents. They were always busy, and it always felt like they didn't care about me. They were fighting most of the time and that made me scared. I was devastated. I felt like I wasn't good enough for them, and I blamed myself for their emotional absence.
Around the same time, I started to notice that my peers at school were becoming more and more sarcastic. They would make cutting remarks and jokes at my expense, and it was starting to wear me down. I didn't know how to stand up for myself, and I began to feel like maybe they were right – maybe I was just a loser who didn't deserve to be treated with respect.
Even after my study years came to an end, I struggled to start my career, I had no experience at all, and due to the way I was raised, I lacked basic communication skills, I could not express myself, and I saw myself as worthless, not good enough, not capable, which reflected on my career, I got fired many times from many companies in different work fields, it was very tough on me at that time to feel rejected, and not needed.
In addition, these ups and downs in my career life created a lot of financial crises for me, I was on debit, I couldn't pay my bills, and I got lawyers chasing me until I hit the edge of frustration.
Things came to a head when I was 39 and I was diagnosed with cancer. It was a scary time for me and my family, and I didn't know if I was going to survive. I had to undergo surgery and chemotherapy, and it was a grueling process that left me feeling exhausted and weak. But through it all, I kept fighting. I knew that I couldn't give up, even when things seemed impossible.
But even in the darkest of times, there was always a glimmer of hope. I started to read books, hired a coach, and went to a therapist who helped me work through my feelings of abandonment and self-doubt. I learned how to set boundaries and stand up for myself, and I started to realize that I was worthy of love and respect.
I also found a group of friends who were kind and supportive, and they helped me weather the storm of school bullying. With their help, I was able to ignore the snide comments and hurtful jokes, and I focused on being true to myself and living my life with integrity.
And then, after months of treatment and recovery, I was declared cancer-free. It was a moment of pure joy and relief, and it reminded me that even in the face of the toughest challenges, there is always hope.
Today, I am a survivor. I am strong and resilient, and I know that I can face whatever life throws my way. I am grateful for the lessons I've learned and the experiences I've had, and I'm here to share my story with anyone who needs to hear it. If I can overcome abandonment, sarcasm, bullying, loss of money, and cancer, then you can too. Believe in yourself, and never give up.
