Assistant Professor
Department of Informatics/Humanistic and Social Informatics Laboratory/Ionian University, GreeceI work as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Informatics at the Ionian University since late 2025 and a member of the Humanistic and Social Informatics Laboratory. I also do research as an affiliated member of the GBD Collaborating Unit. Before that, I worked as a permanent Researcher in the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, as a team memebr of the Forecasting team in IHME (Seattle, WA). Between 2020 and 2024, I worked as a Postdoc and then as a Researcher in the Dept. of Mathematics at the University of Bergen working with Iain Johnston and his amaing Stochastic Biology group doing some exciting mathematical modeling and computational stuff!
I have participated in various funded projects, and served as a reviewer and TPC member for several conferences and journals. I have attended international conferences, taught courses, given lectures, and participated in summer schools and workshops. I have extensive experience as a reviewer for international journals, conferences, and funding agencies. I have supervised and co-supervised of students at all levels, and taught different courses in both graduate and undergraduate level.
Research interests: Public health metrics, Forecasting, Computational Intelligence, Symbolic AI, Linked Data, Bioinspired Computing, Knowledge Representation, Complex Systems.
