Researcher

Currently, I work as a Researcher in the Dept. of Mathematics at the University of Bergen, Norway (UiB page). I am working with Iain Johnston and the rest of our Stochastic Biology group in the ERC EvoConBio project, doing some exciting mathematical modeling and computational operations! See my (outdated) greek page here. Previously, I worked as a postoctoral fellow in the same project. Before that, I was a postdoc researcher in the Alcomopt project in Greece.

Research interests: Algorithms, Computational Intelligence, Linked Data, Biostatistics, Semantic Web, Bioinspired Computing, Complex and Computer Networks.

Education

Short Bio

I obtained my BSc and  MSc in Informatics from the Department of Informatics at the Ionian University in Corfu, Greece (in 2011 and 2013, respectively). I received my PhD in Theoretical Computer Science from the Dept. of Informatics of the Ionian University in 2016. I have participated in various funded projects, and served as a reviewer and TPC member for several conferences and journals. My research interests focus on the theory of computation with emphasis on automata theory, algorithms, quantum and bioinspired computation, game-theoretic models, bioinformatics, and wireless sensor networks. Before coming to Bergen, I was a postdoctoral fellow in the Alcomopt project, hosted at Ionian University.

Other

I have attended international conferences, taught courses, given lectures, and participated in summer schools and workshops. I, also, have extensive experience as a reviewer in international journals, conferences, and funding agencies. Also, I have experience in supervising and co-supervising of students at all levels.
