An experienced Emergency Management coordinator with over a decade of service to a large Hospital system comprised of over 700 beds. Supporting Emergency preparedness activities ranging from planning for disasters utilizing an all hazards approach, as well as preparing for current and developing events. Utilizing Hazard Vulnerability Assessments to focus this planning and development of key areas of focus.
Hospital emergency management is a continuous process requiring the seamless integration of planning and response efforts with local and national programs. The concept of emergency preparedness is defined as “a continuous cycle of planning, organizing, training, equipping, exercising, evaluating, and taking corrective active in an effort to ensure effective coordination during incident response” (National Incident Management System).
A Certified Hospital Emergency Coordinator (CHEC), receiving my Technician "ticket" June 11, 2014 the journey has been very slow mainly consisting of Hospital radio testing during communications exercises.
Looking to expand current capabilities while meeting like minded people with an interest in Amature Radio and those with more experience in the hobby. I have worked with individuals from the local ARES/RACES group, I am currently working towards the requirements to join this group.
