The art of keyword research in essence is a simple process. The reason why keyword research is so important is because it allows us to find what keywords are being searched in google where our organic traffic will be received. It will also offer other key metrics which will helps us decide if it's worth trying to rank for a specific keyword(s).
Keysearch has two pricing plans as you can see above. Both plans provide you with the same access to the services provided. The only difference being the lower plan offers less daily searches and can only track 50 keywords instead of 150. I currently pay for the starter plan which has kept me happy for over a year now. Unless you have many keywords to track and are a heavy user of keywords and it's other services the starter plan is all you need.
Most people, myself included don't like to pay full price and why should you when the creator has offered a coupon voucher to use when purchasing keysearch. At the time of writing this post the creator was offering a whopping 30% discount to new subscribers. If you would like to enjoy this hefty discount user coupon code DNW30 via the link here and enjoy this generous discount.
Let's take a deep dive into keysearch.co and discover what we can actually do with this awesome piece of web based software.
To begin, I said it was web based so there's no need to upgrade to new versions or re installing onto new laptops. This for me was a big plus as nowadays we tend to upgrade laptops every couple of years and there's nothing worse then taking hours to upgrade software.
By using the Explorer option you can attain some valuable metrics about your competition. This is my favorite method to check what keywords my competitors are ranking for. This is also a method I use to come up with blog post ideas. I first find my competitors using google search and social media. Add the list to a spreadsheet and one by one I check each website. This gives me a host of valuable information as shown below.
Domain Strength: This is ranked out of 10, it will give you a good indication of the strength of the website in question.
Backlinks: This outlines the total number of backlinks and also the break down of dofollow and nofollow backlinks. If you click on the View backlinks it will list the URL's the are backlinking to this site. This will allow you to gain some backlinks of your own from these sources.
Organic keywords: A valuable list of keywords the site is ranking for along with the estimated traffic. This entire list can be downloaded in pdf or excel format to refer at a later date. By perusing this list you can get some great ideas on future posts you can write, very valuable information which I constantly refer back to.
Backlink Overview: Showing a graph of the backlinks they have obtained over the last 12 months.
Top Competitors: A list of their top competitors, by clicking 'View Competitors' it will display their 20 top competitors. Included in this display will be some more metrics about these competitors such as the number of links and keywords they rank for.
Top DS referring domains: Similar to above but will rank the domains using DS (Domain Score)
Ranking Distribution: Shows a breakdown of the strength of their backlinks
Top anchors: A display of the top anchors these sites use.
What I love about keysearch is you can save the results of each of the metrics so you don't need to keep displaying the same URL's. This will limit your credit use. The video below will show you a quick overview on how to use this feature.
Here's where keysearch shines and produces some great information. By using the 'Keyword Research' and entering a keyword of your choice it will produce exactly what you would expect from a keyword tool. Here's what you can expect to see from this display.
Search Trends: A monthly breakdown of the search results per month. Shows some seasonal trends of your chosen keyword.
Keywords: On the right will display a list of related keywords based on the keyword that was searched. Accompanied with the list of related keywords you will receive the volume of searches per month, the CPC and score of difficulty to rank. Anything in green and blue will be the easiest to rank. Again you can save the list as a PDF or CSV for later analysis.
SERP Analysis: This will display the top 10 search results in google. It will also display key metrics about these URL's. This is a powerful display as it will give you enough data for you to decide if it's worth trying to rank with the chosen keyword.
Search Engine Keyword Suggestions: A list of suggested keywords.
Below is a detailed look at how to effectively use the keyword research option.
Using this option will give you some more valuable metrics on your competition. Some of the metrics include the following.

Organic Keywords: A list of keywords the URL is ranking for.
Competitive Gap: Here you can compare what keywords is ranking which is compared to your own site.

This option will help ascertain what keywords are low competition in youtube and help you decide which keywords to rank. Check out the short video explaining the use of Youtube Research option.
This is another favorite which allows to track up to 50 keywords on the Starter plan and 150 on the higher plan.
I keep track of my keywords which keeps me up to date on where I'm tracking in google
In the drop down there are currently two options. The Content Assistant and Opportunity Finder.
The content assistant is one I use when writing a new blog. It will list for you a list of keywords that are suggested to include in your article. By including as many of these keywords as possible there's a better chance of ranking for your particular keyword.
Opportunity finder will help you find three key areas that if used correctly can assist in getting more traffic to your site.
It will show you which sites accept Guest Posts, which Forums are related to your niche and authority blogs will allow you to find influencers which you can network with and commenting opportunities on there sites.
As you have already see from reading the above keysearch is not a basic keyword research tool. It's jam packed with features which allows a bloggers or affiliate marketers to assess their competition and what it takes to rank for their chosen keywords.
I also like the fact it's web based, no need to install and update new versions and the like.
All in all keysearch has all the important metrics that help you rank and make money.
The best part is it's value for money. Sure you may get more metrics and features with other products which will set you back around $100 per month. And to be honest most of the features the other products have you may not ever use. Keysearch starter pack will set you back around $12 per month which equates to about 3 coffees. To me it's a no brainer, give it a try for a month and give it a test drive, you wont be disappointed.
