In this project, I used the Engineering Design Process to design, troubleshoot, and create a customer 3D-printed bag tag personalized to me. My goal was to create a tag that's durable, lightweight, creative, able to attach to a bookbag, and printable without supports. I designed my bag tag using Onshape CAD software and then prepared the design for 3-D printing. My final design features the Japanese cat cartoon character named Doraemon. He has a bright blue body with a white tummy, a large white face, a red nose, and big, dark eyes. He has six stiff whiskers on his cheeks. The bag tag took 4 colors: Blue, Black, White, and Red. One challenge I encountered during this project was that the offset feature on Onshape would not work because the curves were too sharp to offset the sketch. Through this project, I improved my skills in CAD, 3-D printing, slicing, and problem-solving.
