For the purpose of this project, I had to search for any cybersecurity accident shown in the media. I was also able to participate in a workshop on cybersecurity where I was able to win a certificate.
I learned that information security issues are something that happens daily. Another thing I learned was all the terminologies since before I did not know about the terms spoofing or malware.
This article is about phishing scams happening with Twitter after the charging of the "blue check". Phishing means that hackers or scammers are trying to get your information via a fake email. In this case, the scammers are pretending to be "Twitter service'', sending emails to make the app user confirm their "blue check". Ways the user can prevent these scams are by reading before clicking on the link, confirming the sender's email, and in this case reaching out directly to Twitter.

The Suffolk county has suffered malware attacks that can potentially have been ransomeware. The attacks led to loss of emails and some of their phone services, that led workers to do their tasks on paper. Ransomeware is when the hacker gains access to your information and demands ransome in return. Malware is when the hacker has unouthorized access to the system. They claim the ransomeware attack has shut down some goverments opperations. Ways you can prevent these attacks are not clicking on random links, verifying the senders email and as quick as posible get help.
