I have worked with stakeholders (administrative team, faculty, staff, students, family, or community) to make positive changes academically. The artifacts show our community guest speaker, Attorney Reaves, receiving a token of appreciation for his encouraging words to our scholars at our awards program and myself working with the mathematics team to build teacher capacity surrounding content standards.
I have mobilized resources for a community- based collaboration and progress with diverse cultural, social, and intellectual resources. The artifacts show our 8th graders participating in a college tour and the collaboration with local businesses to connect the classroom to real-world application through STEM based market job opportunities.
I have responded to solve an issue or evaluate how an issue was solved to support the needs of the school, parents, students, and/or caregivers by serving as the SEL administrator for all middle school students. The artifact shows the sequence of activities for the month of January to be implemented in the classrooms each week. These activities were in response to the need to build better conflict resolution skills among our middle school students which has been identified as an area of growth.
I have responded to community partners’ interests and needs to sustain a productive school environment by supporting relationships and providing access to our student body. The artifacts show our My Brother's Keeper (MBK) Male Mentorship program after one of many weekly meetings and the upcoming mayor candidate, Paul Young, speaking with a few 8th graders about the importance of academics and how it plays an important role in the continuous growth of Memphis, TN.
