My research interests broadly lie in the mathematics of machine learning and statistical learning theory; in particular, active learning, subset selection problems, online learning, and graph-based methods.
I'm currently an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
Previously, I was a Peter J. O'Donnell Postdoctoral Fellow at the Oden Institute at the University of Texas, Austin working with Dr. Rachel Ward. I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics from UCLA studying active learning and uncertainty in graph-based learning under the direction of Dr. Andrea Bertozzi. I was supported by the DOD's NDSEG Research Fellowship and an NSF NRT Fellowship. I completed my undergraduate degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics at BYU in Provo, Utah.

Machine Learning Consulting
I have a passion for finding practical data-driven solutions to interesting questions in any number of applications. I previously consulted for Owlet Baby Care Inc. and other companies working on projects ranging from designing data-driven algorithms for baby health metrics to designing robust and flexible recommender systems .
