We empower homeschool students to thrive and connect with other homeschool families in Colorado Springs. We specifically serve our military and religious homeschool families in the region who are looking for affordable resources to supplement their current homeschool curriculum.

Kessler Homeschool Academy is a tuition-free, publicly-funded homeschool enrichment campus that focuses on arts enrichment classes such as digital design/painting, learning a new musical instrument, and studying of a languages such as American Sign Language or French.

Our classes are for intended for upper elementary thru high school (4th - 12th grade). We scaffold our classes to ensure students are challenged based on their ability level. We occasionally have an additional instructor to assist if the skill levels in the classroom are significantly varied.

Class Location and Schedule for 2026-2027 School Year:

LOCATION: Cottonwood Creek YMCA Community Center

Tuesday - Arts Class from 1:45pm - 3:45pm (digital design, illustration, character design, painting, retro crafts)

Wednesday - Music Class from 11:30pm - 1:30pm (expected Guitar class)

Thursday - Language Class from 11:30pm - 1:30pm (expected ASL or French class)

Please note, students participate in classes as individuals. We do not allow parents to sit in on classes but you are welcome to wait in the lobby area.

Requirements of KHA Program

Joining Kessler Homeschool Academy truly is a win-win situation for families, students, and the school.

However, a few requirements do exist since we are a publicly funded campus:

Students must be a homeschool student or a private school student, and cannot be in another publicly funded program in the state of Colorado.
Students must participate in all classes each week for the classes to remain free. This equates to approximately 90 hours of enrichment activities each semester for a total of 180 hours for the school year. This hourly total is required to receive state funding. We build in additional sessions each semester (normally 120 hours) to ensure students meet the 90 hour minimum requirement even with absences and snow days.
Parents are required to register with a district informing the state of their intent to homeschool.
