Hi, and welcome to my website.
I am a development and political economist and currently work as a MSCA postdoctoral researcher at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. My research examines how institutions, information, and environmental risks shape socioeconomic outcomes. More broadly, I am interested in topics related to conflict, organized crime, health, and environmental risk factors, with a particular focus on developing countries.
I studied economics at the University of Freiburg and psychology at the University of Hagen. I received my PhD in economics from the University of Göttingen. My dissertation, The Causes and Consequences of Violent Conflict, was supervised by Krisztina Kis-Katos, Marcela Ibañez Diaz, and Andreas Fuchs.
My research primarily uses applied microeconometric methods. I frequently work with geospatial data and employ quasi-experimental and experimental approaches to causal inference.
I presented the study "Organized Crime and Pandemic Emergency Response: Evidence from Mexico" at the Applied Microeconomics Workshop in Bolzano.
