Hi, and welcome to my website.
I am a development economist, currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bolzano. I studied economics at the University of Freiburg and psychology at the University of Hagen. I obtained my PhD degree in economics from the University of Göttingen. My dissertation called "The causes and consequences of violent conflict" was supervised by the professors Krisztina Kis-Katos, Marcela Ibañez Diaz and Andreas Fuchs.
I am working on research projects in the fields of the economics of conflict and health in developing countries. I am generally passionate about and motivated to understand how political, economic, and psychological factors shape human behavior and human living conditions.
My research uses methods of applied microeconometrics. I often utilize geospatial data and apply quasi-experimental and experimental methods for causal inference, such as high dimensional fixed effects models, instrumental variable approaches, difference-in-differences designs, but also laboratory and field experiments.
My joint paper with Andreas Kammerlander on the effects of political favoritism on conflict is now online in the Journal of Comparative Economics: Link to the paper
I am happy to announce that I started my new postdoctoral position at UniBZ as a MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship.
