What a great way to end the RBS IMP3–Management Control and IMP2–Managerial Accounting courses 🙂
Students wrapped up the semester by presenting and debating their AI mini-projects—an engaging and insightful experience that explored digitalization in management accounting and control and the evolving role of AI tools in academic work.
The presentations showcased strong teamwork and project management, while peer discussions reflected critical thinking and constructive feedback. I was especially impressed by the students’ responsible and creative use of AI in academic writing—clearly citing sources, tools, and prompts used. This project emphasized that education isn’t just about delivering knowledge—it’s about equipping students with the skills to thrive in an AI-driven world.
A big thank you to all students for their energy and insights.

It was a pleasure to have participated in the 47th Annual Congress of the European Accounting Association, hosted by Luiss Guido Carli University in the historic city of Rome, Italy, from May 28th to 30th, 2025. I presented our research paper, co-authored with Adel Beldi, titled:
"Performance Measurement System Diversity, Business Intelligence, and Digitalization Level: Impact on Sustainable Performance."
Our study explores how business intelligence (BI) and performance measurement system (PMS) diversity influence sustainability performance, especially in digitally advanced business contexts. Grounded in dynamic capabilities theory, the research highlights the mediating role of PMS diversity and how digitalization can moderate these relationships.
Beyond the academic exchange, presenting in Rome was a truly enriching experience. The Colosseum, a cultural and historical bridge between Italy and Tunisia, reminded me of the deep connections that history and knowledge can foster. Rome’s unique cultural tapestry, its timeless landmarks, world-class art, and vibrant cuisine, offered the perfect backdrop for meaningful scholarly dialogue and inspiration 🙂
I had the pleasure of presenting two research papers—co-authored with Adel Beldi—at the 46th Annual Congress of the AFC in Saint-Malo, France (May 12-14):
1️⃣ “The Social Effects of the Interactive Use of Performance Measurement Systems: An Analysis Based on the Mediating Effect of Innovativeness”
2️⃣ “Performance Measurement System Diversity, Business Intelligence, and Digitalization Level: Impact on Sustainable Performance”
The conference was exceptionally well organized, and Saint-Malo provided a beautiful setting for rich academic exchange and networking.
What an inspiring and intellectually enriching experience it was to visit the historic University of al-Qarawiyyin in Fez, Morocco widely recognized by UNESCO and the Guinness World Records as the oldest continuously operating university in the world. Founded in 859 by Fatima al-Fihriya, a visionary woman from Kairouan (now Tunisia), this iconic institution stands as a remarkable cultural bridge between Tunisia and Morocco. Walking through its elegant courtyards, I reflected on its legacy as a cradle of knowledge that once welcomed thinkers like Ibn Khaldoun, Averroès, and Al Idrissi. This visit was a powerful reminder of the enduring role of academic heritage in shaping intellectual exchange across generations and geographies 🙂
