Nearly 25 years ago, Jesse started coming down to Warsaw with his Uncle Dave and Aunt Brenda Kerby. They brought him hunting, camping, and exploring all around the Woodbury area. A few years later, Jodie and their children, Parker and Karagan came along and saw for themselves just how special this place really was and they fell in love with it just like Jesse had.
Eventually, we found a permanent campsite along the Walhonding River at Shady Grove Campground, where we spent the next 12 years making memories. Over time, we knew we didn’t just want to visit this community, we wanted to become part of it. So we bought property just south of town and made Warsaw our second home.
The diner is two hours away from our permanent residence up in Norwalk, Ohio but the drive is worth it every time. Almost exactly two years after buying our property here, we found out the diner was up for sale. We took the leap.
Owning a restaurant had been a longtime dream for both of us. We’ve always loved feeding friends and family, and we knew this diner could be something special, a place where people feel welcome, enjoy a good meal, and maybe even come back for seconds of that gravy.
Kerby’s Diner is more than a business to us. It’s the next chapter of a story that started with a hunting trip and we’re so proud to share it with you.
