The essential components of the Kentucky Postsecondary Advising Framework serve as a starting point for developing a comprehensive postsecondary advising system. These documents are designed to:

• 1. • Provide advisors with a clear roadmap for advising.

     • Align college and career opportunities from grades 6-12 in your school/district.

     • Celebrate successes and identify opportunities for growth in postsecondary advising. 

The essential components comprise the following three documents:

• The Grade-Level Outcomes document identifies the primary postsecondary advising milestones students should accomplish at each grade level for the four main postsecondary advising categories.

  • • Career Exploration

    • Postsecondary Opportunities

    • Financial Aid and Literacy

    • Essential Skills

• The Advising Practices Reflection document provides an opportunity to evaluate current advising practices and identify areas of success and opportunities for growth.

• The College and Career Connection Guide connects resources to the grade-level outcomes for each advising framework category. Utilizing these resources together will maximize student experiences and better equip them to make well-informed college and career decisions.
