Health Guarantee

Kentuckiana Hedgehogs provides...

•  a one-year congenital health guarantee on all of our hedgehogs. 

  • • If your hedgehog dies within that time period, a vet necropsy must be provided stating that the hedgehog had a congenital problem (something it was born with or hereditary problem). 

    • We will NOT replace a hedgehog if something happens to it due to negligence, injury, improper diet, or illness due to it not being taken care of properly. 

• We provide a lifetime guarantee against WHS. If your hedgehog dies of WHS it is to be verified by a vet through necropsy to honor this and your hedgehog will be replaced with a baby of your choice from available litters. We will issue an electronic refund to honor this guarantee only if we are no longer breeding at the time and have retired our herd. 

• Any and all guarantees are void if you do not follow proper all the care guidelines listed on the Care Guide tab above.

Sales

All hedgehogs sold by Kentuckiana Hedgehogs are sold as PET ONLY

No hedgehogs are sold for breeding purposes.

No hedgehogs are sold to pet stores.

We do not sell opposite sexes to anyone.

No hedgehogs are sold to Illegal states.

Pickup/Sales/Transport Policies

• Pickups are by appointment only

• Please notify me if you will be early or late so that I can let you know if I will be available to accommodate the appointment change. 

• Location and instructions will be provided when the hedgehog is ready to go home. 

• Delivery services are available 

• The fee for transport is $160-$200 throughout the US. Please be advised that after payment for transport, it may be up to a month for transport to occur as they plan routes in advance to do them all at once. If we are waiting on transport, the last paragraph to this section is void unless we are waiting on the buyer to pay transport costs.

• In-state pickups are done either at my home or at a location that is en route to my daily routine or plans. I DO NOT let anyone into my home as I have other animals in my home that are protective. In order to ensure the safety and health of myself, my family, and you, any sales done at my home will be done outside.

• If you cannot pick your hedgehog up within 7 days of the day it is ready to go home, arrangements must be made for full payment of the hedgehog. 

• If full payment is not received within the 7 day grace period the hedgehog will be placed as available and your deposit will be forfeited. This is your only warning. 

• I will hold the hedgehog for 14 days after it is ready to go home if paid in full. After 7 days a $5/day boarding fee will apply. 30 days after it is ready to go home and there has been no pickup arrangements or boarding fee paid, the hedgehog is considered “Returned” and no refunds will be issued.

Hedgie Prices and Colors 

• Our hedgehogs are typically priced between $250 - 400.

• Some other rare colors and markings may be priced higher than others. 

• I do not guarantee prices until the babies are 4 weeks old. 

• I reserve the right to adjust the prices once the colors are evident. 

• Hedgehogs do not develop their true colors until they are 6 months old (after quilling). I cannot and do not guarantee the colors of any hedgehog!

Deposit Policies

• If you would like to place a deposit on future litters you are free to do so. 

• Deposit price is $75 and is non-refundable

• The amount of the deposit is deducted from the balance you owe at pickup.

• Deposits are taken through Paypal, Venmo, or Cash only.

• I do not accept any payments through checks, money orders or any other money transfer apps. 

• The remaining balance is due at the time of pickup. If you are paying at the time of pickup, cash only. Any days prior to the pickup date, I will accept the remaining balance through Paypal, Venmo, or Facebook pay. 

• If you are using Paypal, please be advised, you will be responsible for the fee to transfer funds. The Paypal fee does not go toward the cost of the hedgehog. 

• If you place a deposit on a baby and decide you would like a different baby from a different litter, I allow one switch. 

• If you have placed a deposit and decide you cannot get the baby at that time, I hold deposits for a week after “ready to go” date before posting the baby as available. I will then hold your deposit for 3 months afterwards if you would like to use it on a future baby.

Ownership

• Kentuckiana Hedgehogs retains partial ownership of all babies sold. When you purchase a hedgehog from us you are responsible for all care costs including housing, feeding, vet care, etc. 

• If you decide a hedgehog IS NOT the right pet for you or your circumstances change, the hedgehog(s) MUST be returned to us at the buyer's expense/time. 

• You may not sell or give away your hedgehog!

• Failure to comply with this can result in legal action. 

• We do this to ensure that the hedgehog we helped to create is always properly cared for and loved. 

Return Policies

If you decide a hedgehog is not the right fit for you, please contact me and we will set up the return details. PLEASE DO NOT SELL IT. We do not want our babies to end up in the wrong hands. We will take the hedgehog back at any time, though refunds will only be given before a certain amount of time.
