About

I come from Japan (my name is written in kanji as 掛波 健太). Before coming to UMass, I worked as a high-school teacher and later as a university lecturer. While teaching at high school, I also coached the swimming club though I can't swim myself.

Outside of linguistics, I cook Japanese foods and unauthentic Chinese foods.
