ラテンアメリカの各国政治について比較しながら研究しています。
ラテンアメリカでは、選挙で選ばれていない（さらには政治経験が一切ない）経済専門家がしばしば大臣となり政策決定に携わってきました。このような政治の状況は、ラテンアメリカの文脈では「テクノクラシー」という政治学の用語で説明されています。では、経済専門家が政策決定に携わるというのは一体どういうことなのでしょうか。主にアルゼンチン、ウルグアイ、チリの「コーノ・スール」と呼ばれる3か国の政治を見ながら、経済専門家が政策にどのような影響を及ぼすのか、彼らがどのように政策決定に携わり続けることができるのかなどを明らかにしようと考えています。
My research is about the politics of Latin American countries.
In Latin America, unelected economists, even those with no prior political experience, have often become ministers and influenced policymaking. They in the region have labeled this type of democracy as "technocracy." What does it mean to have economic experts involved in policymaking? By comparing three countries, Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile, known as the "Southern Cone (Cono Sur in Spanish)," I'm trying to determine how economists influence economic policies and how they can remain involved in policymaking.
