Our Back Story
We started as a performance group in 2018 and performed under the name The Don't Quit Your Day Job Band. The name of our group was a tongue-in-cheek nod to the fact that the majority of our band members are music educators during the day, and would gig (perform) at night. The band would (and still does) support our Boerne ISD and the Boerne Police Department for their annual Blue Santa Toy Drives / Cookies and Cocoa events each year.

Once Mr. Peach retired in 2025, we shortened the name to The Don't Quit Band. BTW - we still use the majority of music teachers in the band when schedule allows. This is a fun band with great people.

We will work with you to find a fair price that works for both the customer and the band members. I always aim to find a cost that doesn't break the bank, but accurately reflects the professional services that we provide, as well as the talents of our musicians. Music can often be a factor that makes an event stellar and memorable, as opposed to mundane and commonplace. We frequently work with clients that have never hired live musicians before, but instantly become fans of live music after hearing one of our ensembles perform. That being said, if you want QUALITY live music, it does come at a certain price point.

Little Big Band - approximately 13 to 14 member group
Big Band - approximately 17 to 18 member group
Jazz or Dixieland Combo - approximately 6 to 7 member group

Currently our "Little Big Band" is our most popular band (13 to 14 band members).

Before coming to Boerne ISD, Mr. Peach was the Director of Fine Arts in Victoria ISD (5A Region 14), Victoria Texas from 2013 to 2018 and in Cedar Hill ISD (5A, Region 20), Cedar Hill ISD, Texas from 2008 to 2013.

Mr. Peach taught music education (band) in Texas public schools and colleges from 1992-2008 (Arlington ISD Hutcheson Junior HS & Lamar High School, DeSoto ISD DeSoto High School, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Mansfield ISD Mansfield High School, Cedar Hill ISD Cedar Hill High School).

After 33 years in Fine Arts Education, Mr. Peach retired in 2025.

Example Performance Fees

Performance fees are negotiable depending on a number of variables.

Our hourly rate for a professional musician for this type of music is approximately $40+ per hour per musician with a two hour minimum.

Example: If you wanted to hire a 14-member band band for a 2 hour event - the payout to each musician in the band would be $40 x 2 hours which is $80 take home pay. We also have full sound and lighting option

- - 14-piece member "Little Big Band" - $80 pay per member x 14 members to perform 2 sets.
    - - 14 x $80 = $1,120
      - Full Sound System & Basic Color Lighting $300 (if needed for the performance).

One to Two Hour Event - approximately $80 per musician with a Full Sound System and Basic Color Lighting for event of $300

- - 18-member Big Band is
    - - 18 x $80 = $1,440
      - Full Sound System & Basic Color Lighting for event for $300
  - 14-piece "Little Big Band" - this group is currently our most popular group and featured on the Demo
    - - 14 x $80 = $1,120
      - Full Sound System & Basic Color Lighting for event for $300
  - 6-piece Jazz or Dixieland Combo

Three Hour Event - approximately $120 per musician with a Full Sound System and Basic Color Lighting for event of $300

Set length can vary - typically our patrons prefer the following.

- - Set 1 hour set. Example 7 PM to 8 PM
  - Set 2 45 minute set - Example 8:15 to 9 PM
  - Set 3 45 minute set - Example 9:15 to 10 PM
  - Set 4 45 minute set - Example 10:15 to 11 PM

We do have a two hour minimum if you needed the performance to only last one hour, the 2 hour rate is applied.
