比喩ではなくなった世界で、ケールという名の青年は疑問を抱き始める。

彼はファンタジー系MMORPG《レジェンズ・オブ・アルセリア》に取り憑かれたゲーマーだ。

ある日、倒すことが不可能とされるイベント限定ボスに挑んでいた最中、PCが謎の爆発を起こし――目を覚ますと、そこはゲームの世界だった。

ここまではよくある話……のはずだった。

だが、彼が転生（？）したのは勇者でも戦士でもなく、“テスト用キャラクター”――開発者が動作確認に使う不完全なクラスだった。
