In August 2025, I received my PhD in Physics with a Planetary Sciences concentration from the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, FL, USA. I conduct theoretical astrophysics research, and my interests include the habitability of terrestrial exoplanets, radiative transfer in planetary atmospheres, spectroscopy, polarimetry, and planetary aerosols (i.e., clouds and hazes). Check out my Research page for more info!
I grew up in the small town of Mount Airy, MD, USA, and ever since I could remember I have had an interest in space. I received my Bachelor of Science in Physics with minors in Astronomy and Mathematics from James Madison University (JMU) in Harrisonburg, VA, USA, where my undergraduate research focused on modeling the thermal emission of transiting exoplanets. While at JMU I also worked as a Student Educator and Host at the John C. Wells Planetarium on campus!
During my undergraduate career, I was very fortunate to be able to take part in two research internships at NASA. My first internship was in the Summer 2016 term, where I worked at the Goddard Space Flight Center with Dr. Brent Bos on the OSIRIS-REx Asteroid Sample Return Mission's Touch-And-Go Camera (TAGCAM) System! For this work I was awarded a 2016 John Mather Nobel Scholarship as well as a co-authorship on two papers for the TAGCAM System! My second internship was in the Fall 2017 term, where I worked at the Ames Research Center with Dr. Eldar Noe Dobrea on atmospheric corrections of images taken by the CRISM instrument aboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. See my Past Projects page for more information about these internships!
Outside of astrophysics and planetary science, I love mythology, mainly of Ancient Greece and Rome. I have also been involved in theater and music for most of my life, acting in many plays and musicals and playing the trumpet as well as dabbling in piano. I like playing baseball/softball and ultimate frisbee, and enjoy watching American football and basketball. I also love swimming and going to the beach, and I have my Open Water Scuba Diving certification!
I am also an avid Disney, Marvel/MCU, and Star Wars fan!
In November 2022, I along with some of my fellow grad students at UCF founded a new Orlando satellite of Astronomy on Tap (AoT)! See my Outreach page for more information about AoT Orlando!
In October 2025, I started a postdoctoral research position with Prof. Dr. Christiane Helling in the Exoplanets: Weather and Climate group at the Space Research Institute (IWF) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Graz, Austria! My research now focuses on understanding the 3D climate and gas-phase chemistry in the atmospheres of gas giant exoplanets!
In January 2026, I along with some of my colleagues at the IWF created another new satellite of AoT, this time in Graz, Austria! Check out my Outreach page for more information!
