Firearm Safety

All student-athletes are required to complete and submit certificates for either one of two League-approved firearm safety certification programs – a state-approved hunter education certificate or the League’s SAFE Certification. Either option requires the firearm safety certification information to be documented in Athlete Management System (AMS) before the athlete can participate in any shooting activities with the team.

It is that time of year again SPRING trap!! I know many are excited to get the season going.

Requirements to join the trap team:

1. Have completed your gun safety certification before March 24, 2025.

2. Have access to either a 12 gauge or 20 gauge shotgun

3. Supply your own ammunition

Costs:

1. Kennedy trap shooting fee for spring shooting is $155, paid directly to Deb

2. US Clay Target League fee for spring shooting is $40, paid during registration on their website. This must be done by March 25th at 12noon CT! This is hard stop, we can't enroll students after this date.

3. If you elect to join the team for the Alexandria tournament in June, there is a US Clay target League Fee, that will be announced later in the season (typically is around the same fee as the spring shooting fee for US Clay Target League)

Registration:

Everyone who would like to join the Kennedy trap team needs to enroll in 2 places.

1. Register for Spring Kennedy Trap Shooting through the school activity registration website. Please be sure to sign up only for Kennedy (not Jefferson). There is no fee collected at the website. The fee is collected at the team meeting- date to be determined.

2. Register for Spring US Clay Trap Shooting through their website. Bloomington Kennedy Team ID: bly982

For existing athletes: log into your profile and register for the Bloomington Kennedy Spring Trap team and pay the $40 fee

For new athletes: go to the website and create a profile. You will need to use the Team ID to be assigned to the Bloomington Kennedy Team. We will receive notification of request to join the team.

Team Uniform:

This is the grey t-shirt and orange hat. If you have already purchased this in the past, no need to purchase again. If you are in need of a uniform the cost is $50.

Practice:

Tuesdays at 3:30pm at the Minneapolis Gun Club: 20009 Judicial Road, Prior Lake, MN 55372
